About Pacific Fair Shopping Centre

Located in Broadbeach Waters, Pacific Fair stands as the Gold Coast’s premier shopping destination. Opened to much fanfare in 1977 by Hooker Retail Developments on previously undeveloped swampland, it quickly overtook Sundale Shopping Centre – since demolished – to become Queensland’s largest regional centre for retail. This 17-hectare site is home to 96 specialty stores and two anchor tenants amongst a unique blend of architectural themes, including mock Tudor buildings, European thoroughfares; Asian villages with ponds; and even its own French Quarter too! The 1992 addition of Myer was accompanied by an impressive four-level store within the Arcade – cementing Pacific Fair as one of Australia’s most iconic destinations for shoppers across all generations.

Pacific Fair has come a long way since its humble beginnings, boasting 400 specialty stores and four anchor tenants. It continues to evolve as one of the leading destinations for shopping on Queensland’s Gold Coast – having undergone numerous expansions over time. For instance, work commenced in 2014 on a large-scale redevelopment venture that prepares this shopping centre for anticipated growth regionally; it previously featured Myer (four levels), Kmart, Target, Coles and Toys “R” Us before Daimaru departed from Australia briefly.
