Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a world-renowned destination for exploring the wonders of Australia’s native species. Established in 1947 by Alex Griffiths, it has grown dramatically to include dingo and crocodile encounters as well as free-flight bird shows. Visitors also have an opportunity to help feed the sanctuary’s lorikeets twice daily – quite a sight! While the fun may be had at Currumbin, don’t forget its serious side: there are leading veterinary and rehabilitation hospitals housed behind closed doors that work tirelessly with their mission of conservation and education.
